About

Built by people who had to sell Shopify apps without it.

Alert is the Shopify GTM platform we spent years wishing someone would build. We have shipped our own apps into the Shopify App Store, and we have worked on the GTM teams that scaled apps past $10M in ARR. Every one of those teams was flying blind between demos. Alert is the instrument panel.

We have been on the other side of the pitch

Selling software to Shopify merchants sounds simple from the outside. There are over a million live stores, the App Store is public, and every merchant's tech stack is sitting right there in their storefront source. In practice it is brutal. Merchants are pitched constantly, switching costs feel high, and the moment a merchant is genuinely open to change lasts a few weeks at most. Miss it and you wait a year for the contract to come back around.

Every tool we bought promised to fix this and none of them did, because none of them were built for the Shopify ecosystem. So we built the thing we could never buy: Shopify app sales intelligence that watches the whole ecosystem and tells you who has a reason to talk to you today.

The problem with the Shopify GTM stack

Every existing tool answers the same question: which merchants exist. Store directories give you a list. Enrichment tools give you an email for the list. Intent platforms built for general B2B were never taught what the Shopify ecosystem even is: they do not know what an app install means, they cannot see a Plus migration, and they have never read a one-star review on the App Store. The result is a seller prospecting a million stores with no idea which forty have a reason to talk this week.

Our thesis: signals compound

Every review, install, uninstall, job posting, and Plus upgrade is a window into a merchant's intent. Individually they are noise. Read together and scored, they are the most reliable Shopify buying signals in the ecosystem.

Any single event in the timeline is ignorable on its own. In order, they are a merchant announcing a purchase decision weeks before they fill out anyone's contact form. Alert exists to read that sequence for you, across every store, every day, and to pair each one with a pipeline that keeps the whole team on the same signal and contact and company data on the merchant behind it.

Coverage is what makes the signal honest

A buying signal is only useful if it fires wherever the buying happens. That is why the numbers matter, not as scale for its own sake, but as the floor under every alert.

1M+stores monitored

Alert watches the live Shopify universe, continuously scanned and pruned, so when a merchant anywhere drops a competitor or migrates to Plus, the signal fires. Shopify Plus migrations are caught from the storefront itself, not from a stale plan field.

18Kapps tracked

Every app in the Shopify App Store has a profile: installs, churn, reviews, and pricing. Whatever you sell against, your competitor watchlist already exists, built on Shopify App Store data that refreshes continuously.

1Mcontacts

A signal without a person is homework. Alerts arrive with the decision-maker: name, role, verified email, and LinkedIn profile, plus the store's generic inboxes when you want coverage.

1Mads tracked

Ad creative shows what a merchant is pushing and how seriously they are spending. Alert tracks ads across the ecosystem so outreach lands with context about what the merchant is doing right now.

Who we build for

Alert started with app companies, because that is where we came from. But four different groups read the same ecosystem for four different reasons.

App companies and their GTM teams

Teams that sell Shopify apps use review, install, and hiring alerts to know which merchants to contact today and exactly why, instead of working a cold list top to bottom.

Agencies

Agencies watch for merchants showing the early signs of a rebuild: a stack change, a burst of app churn, or a Plus migration in progress, the moments a merchant hires outside help.

Investors

Investors track app-level install movement, churn, and category momentum as a leading indicator, seeing an app's trajectory in merchant behavior long before it shows up in a pitch deck.

Operators and entrepreneurs

Builders considering a category read the ecosystem first: which apps are gaining, which are bleeding installs, and what merchants complain about, before committing a year to the wrong idea.

How we build

Alert is a small team with an opinionated product. Everything is collected and built in-house: the crawls, the app detection, the review pipeline, the contact verification. No resold third-party datasets, because you cannot fix data you do not collect.

We dogfood the platform. Alert's own pipeline runs inside Alert, which means every rough edge a customer would hit, we hit first.

Where this goes

Alert becomes the system of record for Shopify GTM. Every install, uninstall, review, hire, Plus migration, and technology change in the ecosystem flows into one place that tells you where to spend your time today.

Self-serve by design: there is no demo call and no sales rep. Pricing is public, and the product makes its own case in the first session.

Frequently asked questions

How is Alert different from a store directory like Store Leads?

A store directory answers which merchants exist. Alert answers which merchants have a reason to buy right now. It reads Shopify-native events, reviews, app installs and uninstalls, job postings, and Shopify Plus migrations, scores them, and delivers each one with the decision-maker's contact details.

Where does Alert's data come from?

Alert collects its data in-house from public ecosystem sources: storefronts, the Shopify App Store, job boards, and ad libraries. Nothing is resold from third-party data vendors, and contact details are verified before they reach you.

Who is Alert for?

Four groups: Shopify app companies and their GTM teams, agencies looking for merchants about to rebuild or migrate, investors tracking app-level momentum across the ecosystem, and operators researching a category before committing to it.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Alert is self-serve: create an account, pick the apps you compete with, and see live signals before you pay. There is no demo call and no sales rep.

How often do signals refresh?

Continuously. Alert scans the ecosystem around the clock, and new reviews, app moves, job postings, and Plus migrations stream into your feed as they are detected.
